Park Manager III

Grade/Salary: (21) / $34,097 - $52,145 per year

The Position:
- Manages the daily
operation of San Rafael Short Grass Prairie Preserve.
- Plans for the
development of Preserve facilities and resources.
- Prepares yearly
operating budget.
- Oversees preserve
administration, interpretive education Programs, facility and grounds
maintenance activities, Supervise park operations staff.
- Ensures security at
the preserve, visitor center, and historic site locations. Residency is
required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- One year of
experience equivalent to a Park Manager II or two years of experience
equivalent to a Park manager I, or Park Operations Coordinator.
- A Bachelor's degree
in Park Management, Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Geology,
Ecology, Recreation Planning, or closely related field may substitute for
one year of the Park Manager I or Park Coordinator experience.
Special Selection Factors:
- Possession of or
eligibility to obtain Arizona Class D Driver's License.
- Employment is
contingent on the passing of a medical/physical examination.
- Must be Arizona Law
Enforcement certified or eligible for certification.
- Must be able to work
week-ends, rotating shifts and holidays as required.
- Employment is
contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment alcohol/drug
test. The test is to determine the presence of alcohol and/or illegal
drugs, unauthorized prescription drugs (it is illegal to use another
person's prescription drug) in your system
Physical Abilities:
- Must have normal
hearing, be able to walk, stand, stoop and climb stairs for extended
periods of time.
- Must be able to lift
50 lbs.
- Vision must be
corrected to 20/40 or better.
Preference:
- Previous experience
managing natural resource and historical parks with multiple visitor site
locations and interpretive education programs.
- Bilingual
(Spanish/English) speaking skills.
